You choose your body shop on a Mercury Insurance claim
In California the vehicle owner picks the repair shop. An insurer can’t require you to use a particular shop (Cal. Insurance Code §758.5). We’re an independent shop. We aren’t in any Mercury Insurance repair program, and you don’t need us to be. We write the estimate, work the supplements with your adjuster, and push for what the car actually needs.
How to file a claim with Mercury Insurance
Mercury says claims can be reported online or by phone at (800) 503-3724, 24 hours a day (Mercury claims). Then tell your adjuster you’d like the vehicle repaired at Elite Auto Body and Collision Center and send us your claim number.
Personal and small-business Mercury claims
Mercury is a strong California brand. We see it on personal cars and light trucks, and on small-business vehicles. Same process either way.
Mercury may offer a shop from its repair program when you report the claim. You can accept it or name Elite instead. We aren’t in Mercury’s repair program.

Send photos from your phone and we’ll send back a written estimate. No sitting in a lobby.
We handle the paperwork
Give us the claim number and we deal with the adjuster on the estimate and supplements.
Towing, pickup and rental
Our towing partner can bring it in, pickup is free in greater San Jose, and we'll shuttle you to the rental agency. Call (408) 377-0505.
If the estimate is short
Insurer estimates are often written before anyone takes the bumper off. When we find more, we document it with photos and send a supplement. If we disagree with a change, we say so and show why.
Fleet and commercial vehicles
We repair fleet cars, Sprinter and work vans, box trucks and limos. We don’t repair buses. Typical turnaround is 3–7 days, depending on parts and damage, and we bill the company or the insurer directly. See fleet and commercial repair.

Am I required to use a Mercury network shop?
No. In California you choose where your vehicle is repaired. Mercury may suggest a shop; you can still bring it to Elite Auto Body and Collision Center.
